LockIn ("we", "our", "us") provides an Android app to help users reduce mobile usage through timed lock sessions.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information We Collect
- Account data: phone number and authentication information from Firebase Authentication.
- Profile data: optional details such as name.
- App usage data: on-device usage statistics used to power lock enforcement and statistics features.
- Session data: lock duration, penalties, and session outcomes stored locally on your device.
- Payment data: payment identifiers/status from Razorpay for early unlock verification (we do not store your card or UPI PIN).
- Diagnostics and analytics: technical and usage telemetry (such as app events/crashes) via Firebase services.
2. Permissions We Use
- Accessibility Service: enforce blocking during lock sessions.
- Usage Access: detect foreground apps for lock enforcement.
- Display over other apps (Overlay): show lock screen over blocked apps.
- Boot completed: restore active lock session after reboot.
- Foreground service / notifications: keep lock enforcement active and visible.
- Internet / network state: authentication, payments, and backend communication.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide lock sessions, early unlock payment flow, and app functionality.
- Authenticate users and secure accounts.
- Detect and prevent abuse/fraud in payment and unlock flows.
- Improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Payment Processing
Payments are processed by Razorpay. Sensitive payment credentials are handled by Razorpay and payment providers.
We receive limited transaction metadata needed to verify payment and unlock state.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share data with service providers needed to operate the app, including:
- Google Firebase (authentication, cloud functions, analytics)
- Razorpay (payment processing and verification)
6. Data Retention
- Device-local session/usage data remains on your device unless you clear app data or uninstall.
- Backend/account data is retained as needed to provide services, comply with law, and resolve disputes.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No system is 100% secure,
but we continuously improve security practices.
8. Children's Privacy
LockIn is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If we learn that we have
collected personal data from a child without proper consent, we will take steps to delete it.
9. Your Choices
- You can stop using the app at any time.
- You can revoke permissions in Android Settings (this may limit app functionality).
- You can request deletion of your account data through our support channel.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date.
